PhatMac Help - Main MenuBar
The following menus are relevant in the main menu-bar:
- PhatMac (only the following options are relevant):
- About PhatMac: Displays the 'About Box', which shows the version
number, author, web-site URL and email address.
- Preferences: Opens up the Preference Window to tune various parts of the PhatMac application.
- Quit PhatMac: Quits the application.
- File (only the following options are relevant):
- Save: Saves the PhatBox library to the
DMS Cartridge (and transfers all files, and generates all speech),
if the library needs saving.
- Save All: Unconditionally saves the entire
PhatBox library to the DMS Cartridge (and transfers all files, and
generates all speech). This will save the library even if PhatMac
doesn't think you have made any changes. All music files and speech
files will be checked.
- Export Library: Export either the
iTunes library or DMS library into a file for browsing or printing.
- Edit (only the following option is relevant):
- Clear: Removes the selected playlists or tracks from the PhatBox
library (the iTunes library cannot be modified from within PhatMac).
- DMS:
- Purge Library: Removes all tracks from the PhatBox library that
are not listed in any playlists. This operation is performed anytime
the PhatBox library is saved, and ensures that unused tracks are
not transferred or left on the DMS Cartridge.
- Purge Disk: Removes all music files from the DMS Cartridge that
are not listed in the PhatBox library. It is wise to Purge
Library first.
- Erase All DMS Data: This will erase
(delete) all generated speech files, all music files, and will delete
all playlists.
- Configure Announcements:
Configures how the PhatBox announces track information when the
'Scan' button is pressed. This is only available for units which
require the SSA interface.
- Remove Speech: Removes all speech files from the DMS Cartridge. It may
be necessary to Save All to have the speech files re-generated.
- Eject DMS: Ejects the DMS Cartridge from
your Mac. It is extremely important to eject the cartridge before
unplugging it from your Mac, otherwise you will lose data or the
cartridge will become corrupt. Never remove the DMS Cartridge
without Ejecting it first!
